Beautiful Reclaimed Round Table in Open Concept Kitchen – Kitchener, Ontario Home<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Our main specialty is maintaining as much of the original distressing in the raw material as possible. You can’t beat (or replicate) wood that has been authentically distressed over the course of 100+ years.<\/strong> Stains, nail holes, saw marks, dings, scratches and a lot of other types of character are visible. We frequently will even have straw and other barn-related organics still in the holes in the final product. To finish this character\u00c2\u00a0with a light clear-coat\u00c2\u00a0would make it very difficult to clean, and the beauty of the distressing would eventually become overshadowed by the inconvenience of cleaning and constantly finding a spot to place your glass without it falling over. The beauty of the finish we introduced in 2009 (epoxy and polyurethane on reclaimed wood surfaces) is we can make these heavily distressed surfaces practical for every day use.<\/strong> This round table<\/a> we made for customers in Kitchener, Ontario is a great sample of the character we maintain. We also broke up the wood grain in the floor and table top with some sturdy wormy maple chairs painted black.<\/h1>\n
