Extra thick 3″ Top Option: Reclaimed Wood Sawbuck Dining Set Including Wormy Maple Ladder Back Chairs & End Benches

For an extra thick look to the top, we offer a 3″ barn joist material edge. These come from interior rafters within an old pioneer barn. This reclaimed sawbuck style table customer opted for this option. In this case we also did a painted black with sandthroughs option on the base & trestle benches at the ends. See pics:

Hand Made Rustic Table Made from Dark Ontario Barnwood with Epoxy + Polyurethane Finish

All our tables are hand built in the country in Woolwich, Ontario. With the raw material we work with, this is necessary. This allows us the edge / custom thickness sand the old barnwood to maintain almost all the original darkness/patina.

Reclaimed Wood Trestle Table made from Ontario Barnwood with Epoxy + Polyurethane Finish

The epoxy clearcoat we flood our reclaimed wood tops with makes the surface durable, waterproof and easy to clean. We bring the shine down to matte, satin or maintain high gloss. Check out this satin finish we used for a reclaimed wood trestle table:

Our tables can be made in any height. The most commons heights are standard table [30″], counter [36″] and bar height [42″]. The reclaimed wood trestle table we built was made for counter height:

The colour of exterior barn boards is different than the internal floor boards, our barnboard greytone treatment option fixes this. Some of our customers love the colour of barnboard. The barn floor boards we use [threshing floor] is less exposed to the elements so won’t be in this colour. The goal of this treatment option is to match barnboard. Actual exterior barn boards can’t be used as they’re are too structurally deterioted. Check out this barnwood pedestal table we made for a West Montrose home with this option. Custom Reclaimed Wood Desk with Bleach Greytone Treatment Option & Epoxy Finish for Ottawa Company

We custom build desks from old Ontario barnwood. Combined with our epoxy + polyurethane finish, we can maintain the original pioneer distressing while still being practical, good to write & spill on, ect. For this Ottawa desk project, the customer opted for our bleached greytone treatment option, which maintains the light colour of unfinished and cuts out the brown tones. See pics below!

Reclaimed Wood Trestle Table & Bench

A bench on one side is a great way to maximize seating [especially with kids]. We stagger the posts so the bench will slide underneath the table top when not in use. Check out the barnwood trestle table project we did with a bench on one side:

Greytone Treatment Option: Maintaining the Colour of Unfinished Reclaimed Wood on a Hemlock Threshing Floor Sawbuck Table

If you make a dry piece of wood wet, it darkens up and brings out the patina. The older wood gets, the more patina there is, therefore the darker it is when made wet. A clearcoat finish has the same effect. Some people really like the light colour of unfinished; but want the benefit of our clearcoat epoxy + polyurethane finish which fills in all the distressing we maintained.
