Our epoxy finish fills in all the deep, authentic barnwood distressing. Epoxy is very glossy. To bring down the shine, we topcoat with a thick polyurethane finish. The colour of our furniture comes from the age of the wood. The older wood gets, the darker it gets. Since the raw material we use is 150+ years old, it comes to us with a lot of darkness/patina already present. The clear epoxy + polyurethane finish pulls out the darkness.
