We keep nearly all the original distressing in the old barnwood use as the raw material. We then fill with our two stage finish. Check out this recent harvest table project we did for a Gatineau, Quebec home [we do deliver & set up out there]:

The colour of our tables comes from the old patina in the barnwood we use. The older wood gets, the darker it gets. Since the wood we use is over 150 years, there’s already a lot of colour to work with. Our unique epoxy + polyurethane finish allows us to keep this patina and not have to sand it out for smoothness.
