Our epoxy finish turns distressed softwood [hard to clean/susceptible to use] into a durable and waterproof surface. The original distressing really stands out! Check out this reclaimed wood table with modern straight 3″ reclaimed joist legs! We custom made this for a client in Ancaster, Ontario. See pics below!

Many elements of our tables can be modified. In this case, for example, the client requested 7″ bread-edge boards.

Black Chairs are a great way to create contrast between the floor and the table top. For additional contrast, if necessary, we can also make the legs and skirting black [or other, depending on space]. It’s amazing how aged wood patina can pull in so many wood tones. See pics below for an example! We custom built this set for a customer in Mississauga, Ontario.

84″ Desert Lake, Ontario Cottage Trestle Table with Bench & Plank Back Chairs

Many of the customers I talk to at the showroom are looking for advice. The most common inquiry people have is – will this style table fit with the style of my home? I don’t have a great answer; as we’ll deliver the same style table to the most modern place in downtown Toronto one day, and a non-winterized cottage way up north the next day. All I can say is that I have found natural wood [clear coat finish] – no ‘book’ or ‘wall’ of stainÂ optionsÂ – tends to look good no matter where is goes. I’ve seen projects that use 5 different woods, but none are stained; and it just works. Additionally, “straight lines” design will work with a variety of styles. The less planing, the less milling, the less lathing – the better. Curves and unnecessarily difficult stains/paints just make the design process more challenging.

Square tables, like round tables, have the benefit of everyone facing each other; which creates a closer environment.

Square tables are able to up seating numbers really quick. For example, we build these two 6’x6′ pedestal tables for a Toronto client. General guideline for seats is 2 feet per person. Between these two tables 24 people can be seated! Check out pics below…

Our epoxy finish allows us to make the reclaimed softwood we use durable. The finish adds durability and completely seals the original distressing. Every crack, nail hole, dent, and markings from over 100 years of barn work are still visiable; but sealed and easy to clean.
