6′ Ontario Barnwood Table with a Tapered Skirt for a Cambridge, Ontario Home

A common concern with a traditional [4 leg] harvest table is that taller people will hit their knees on the skirting. While we use 3″ skirting which will generally clear any knees, an option we offer is a tapered skirt. The legs are bolted into the skirt for stability so we can’t eliminate it completely, but this allows for maximum clearance. We did this for this Cambridge harvest table project:

Reclaimed Ontario Barnwood Desk with Barnboard Grey Option for a Woodstock, Ontario Home

Our reclaimed wood desk are custom build with several colour options. While most of our customer opt for the natural colour, we have a few specialty options that may be appropriate your space. One of the newish options we started doing is the barnboard grey option, where we try to mimic the colour of the exterior barn boards [we’d use the actual boards but generally they’re too far gone for structure.. good for a cosmetic wall but not soo much for a heavy duty piece of furniture]. Reclaimed Ontario Barnwood Table with a Metal Base for a Dundas Home

As we’re able to maintain the original aged patina [colour] in the wood, we just clearcoat [no stain]. The warm patina really comes out when we finish. For this reclaimed wood table project, we used old growth hemlock.
