Reclaimed Harvest Table for a Mississauga Home

Friday, January 27, 2023

Old Growth Pine Reclaimed [Ontario] Barnwood Table we made for a Mississauga home – 5′ length – 42″ wide – Harvest Base: Straight 4″x4″ Windbrace Beam Legs – Pine Threshing Floor Construction – Original edges & distressing maintained – Premium epoxy + satin polyurethane finish – 5′ [matching] Plank Base Bench – 4 Modified Plank Back Chairs / Wormy Maple / Painted Black / Polyurethane clearcoat finish – www.table.ca

Old Growth Pine is a lot different than new pine. In original natural Ontario forests the trees would grow taller rather than wider [although wider as well] so the grain was tight. New pine is commercially grown so the trees are space further apart [allowing for more sunlight] so the trees grows a lot quicker. Since noone is going to wait 100 years to harvest their bush there won’t be wood like this ever again, especially combined with the pioneer distressing. This Mississauga customer opted for old growth pine for their reclaimed wood harvest table project:
