The finish and style of our tables make them suited for more modern/formal spaces; while still maintaining all the original distressing from the original barnwood. Maintaining so much distressing typically makes furniture rustic; our product works in both modern and rustic spaces given the epoxy finish we use. 11 ft Modern High Gloss Reclaimed Wood Table in Mississauga, Ontario

One of our topcoat options is high gloss. This tends to be used in very modern spaces; or situations where the client is looking for a very unique look. The juxtaposition of a very modern, high gloss finish on old, distressed barn wood creates a remarkable contrast. Â This is what this customer (see below for pics) did. In a fairly traditional style room, they used old barnwood [“rustic/old/warm”] with the modern high gloss finish, modern red plastic chairs, and a modern red plastic chandelier. A very unconventional approach that turned out extraordinary.

A commonÂ option our business customers go for is the ability to Â re-configure the boardroom table for various uses. This is especially true for very large boardrooms. We alwaysÂ put thick felt pads on the bottom of all our tables so that they are easy to move. For even easier movement; some order casters with soft rubber wheels underneath the bases. The history of an Ontario barn and the work our early ancestors put into barn building is preserved in our table tops, especially given we maintain nearly all the original distressing. We take this old wood and preserve it with the latest and greatest modern finishes. This juxtaposition of using new glues and finishes while still appreciating the roughness of old wood create a beautiful juxtaposition, and warms up modern boardrooms.

A common feature that our commercial boardroom customers order is custom graphic/loho embedding. We laser cut the graphics out of steel, router them into the table top, and then flood over top. The modern brushed steel graphics contrast nicely with the warm deep tones of the reclaimed barnwood.

Waterfall End + Reclaimed Wood is a bit of an oxymoron. With the distressing we maintain.. it is nearly impossible to get a perfect 90 degree angle. Our unique approach and finish has made a popular option for boardroom tables. We keep nearly all the barnwood distressing, and then fill in the cavities to make the tops durable, waterproof, and good to write on. The provides a more modern look which fits with most boardroom. The old wood is juxtaposed to the modern space; adding warmth while still complementing the space.

Our hand-hewn beam bases are made from the large timbers from a pioneer barn. The timbers were initially broad-axed to size by a pioneer over 100 years ago.

Ottawa 7 ft Reclaimed Wood Table – Modern, Simple Design

A lot of our table design is fairly simple, as we design around what the dimensions of the raw material already is coming Â out of a reclaimed barn. How can you beat a wood face that has been exposed and getting distressed for 100+ years? It would be shame to cut/mill/lathe these faces. Natural wood + straight lines design will work in any design.

Check out this table we custom made for a customer in Ottawa, Ontario. Given we provide a niche product we are able to make it throughout Ontario on a weekly basis; therefore being able to provide low delivery cost ($150); even if you are far from our showroom and finishing facilities in Cambridge, Ontario.

Woodstock,Ontario 6.5 ft Reclaimed Wood Harvest Table with Tapered Legs

We use two primary species – reclaimed Pine and Hemlock. There is a big difference between new Pine and Hemlock and (authentic) reclaimed wood. The grain is tighter, as it comes from the original trees from Canada. Pine will be more reddish; Hemlock will be mostly brown. Most chose a species that will bring in the tones of a space; or go completely opposite from what is in the space. Here is an example of a more reddish, virgin growth, reclaimed wood Pine harvest table:
