Oakville Reclaimed Wood Table – Modern 3″ Post Plank Base Style

A miter (45 degree joint) on the corner of table provides a “frame” look to the outside of a table. This is good for providing a more formal look. See below for a sample.

We createdÂ thisÂ table for a customer in Oakville, Ontario. The warm tones nicely contrast with the lighter coloured tile floorÂ and the large open space accommodates the large size of the table.

Reclaimed Wood Buffet Console TableÂ with Whitewash Base on Acton Island, Ontario

A whitewash finish is a create way to create a contrast/ break things up between a floor and a top. The distressing is even more pronounced when the white is sanded through. With the amount of distressing we maintain, this provides a beautiful final look. On whitewash cabinetry, it’s better to go with lighter hardware so that the hardware does not stick out too much. Check out this sample below we made for a client on Acton Island, Ontario.

Metal Base Reclaimed Wood Table in London, Ontario

Reclaimed and metal is an increasingly popular combination. In response to this, we are offering metal bases for our thick 2″ reclaimed threshing floor table tops. The beauty of metal and reclaimed not only adds an industrial/modern element, it also contrasts the old and new. Our initial U shaped design hasÂ received great response. We aimed to keep the design simple; mirroring the design of most of our tables. Our epoxy finish makes our tops a more modern option. This sample (see below) features our stainless steel style base.

Wide 12.5 ft Reclaimed Wood Trestle Table in a Toronto Dining Room

Our tables are created to be a centerpiece in any space theyÂ go in to. Sometimes a space will be so exceptional that our tables compliment the space rather than stand out in it; such as the sample below. The flooring, the walls, and especially the art pulled in the tones and character of the table in this case. The table seems more like a continuation of the space around it rather than a focal point. This is just another sample of the fact that when it comes to design – there are no hard facts – a reclaimed wood table is not necessarily the centerpiece 100% of the time! Spaces can be set up many different ways, and the beauty of how things appear is subjective. We loved the way this whole space came together!

Burlington Reclaimed Hemlock Barnwood Harvest TableÂ with ExtensionsÂ

All our tables can extend up to 18″ on either end – see pictures below for a sample with our harvest table design.

We determine the colour of our tables by how much we sand the old patina out of the distressed wood. In this case, we sanded a bit more to pull out the lighter tones. Even with the heavier sanding, the character and distressing of the old threshing floor boards still comes through. We built this custom harvest table and chairs for a client in Burlington, Ontario.

Boat Shaped Reclaimed Wood Table in Mississauga, Ontario Boardroom

Many assume their only option is the traditional rectangle. However, since all our tables are custom made by hand, from scratch, we can create (almost) whatever you have in mind. Today’s blog post is about an alternative shape that have curved edges – we call it “boat” shaped. The ideal thing about this shape is people don’t have to lean in as far to talk to someone who is sitting on the same side of the table as them. Reclaimed Wood Hutch Cabinet – Elizabethtown, Ontario Home

A hutch is a great way to maximize storage by utilizing vertical space. Most don’t enter a space by more than 18″-24″ and (by utilizing vertical space) andÂ provide extensive storage capabilities. Our reclaimed wood hutches are made from 100% reclaimed grainery board (grainery board comes from the interior of pioneer barns; exterior barn boards are usually too thin to provide sufficient durability/structure for cabinets). We do a lot of boardroom tables given the evenness of our inventive epoxy and polyurethane finishes. We maintain nearly all the original distressing and then flood resin on to fill in the cavities/ make durable (good to write on) + waterproof and easy to clean. Round Tables Work in Many Spaces! Toronto Basement Example

Round tables work in many spaces just given its shape.. It is conducive for high-traffic areas, face-to-face conversation, and ideally suits accommodation size-wise within a space.Â

Round tables have way more flexibility in terms of sizing just given the shape. We do a lot of work in downtown Toronto where “weird” shaped spaces are the norm given the real estate constraints.
