Reclaimed Wood Table & Chairs for a Paris, Ontario Home

Custom Reclaimed Wood Hutch

Our reclaimed wood hutches are built using old Ontario barnwood. For hutches we use the interior grainery room boards. We keep nearly all the original distressing, but make practical with a thick polyurethane clearcoat finish.

Our old-growth reclaimed pine threshing floor material is reclaimed from old Ontario barns. We keep the natural, original colour and make it practical with our unique two stage clearcoat process. Custom Reclaimed Hemlock Coffee Table with Epoxy & Polyurethane Finish

The most popular amount of sanding our customers opt for is “medium” sanding. A minimal sand is more consistently dark, so the doesn’t “pop” as much [despite there technically being more of it]. Custom Rustic Black Painted Reclaimed Wood Hutch with Two Doors

Depending on the colour you’re going for in the space, a painted option may be the best option. While not the natural colour, the tightness of the old wood grain is still visible, and the texture of the original is maintained. Here’s a black painted hutch we custom built for a customer:

Alternative Finish Option: ‘Bleached’ Greytone Treatment

For over 8 years we’ve offered our ‘greytone treatment’. This was one of the first unique options we offered. This purpose of this option was simple – get a finished [with clearcoat] product that KEEPS the colour/tones of unfinished. Our experienced finisher Kim came up with this option and it has been a successful option for many customers!

Some of our customers want the unfinished colour with no brown tones. The unfinished colour will still have some brown. If you take a dry piece of wood and make it wet it darkens up; with authentic reclaimed it darkens up a lot. This is fine and the natural colour is 90% of what our customers love and order. But if you want the colour of unfinished, with no brown tones, it was basically impossible.

Hence, the bleached greytone treatment. This option maintains the colour of unfinished but cuts out all the brown tones. Credit to Kim for coming up with this. Although only recently offered, it has been very popular.

10’x42″ Barnboard Grey Reclaimed Wood Trestle Tables for a Pool Area

We custom build & finish reclaimed wood furniture from scratch. The benefit of this is we can make modifications in the process. In this case, the customer wanted a lighter version of our barnboard greytone treatment. We were able to accommodate by doing less applications of the barnboard grey coating.

Reclaimed Wood Consistory Room Table for a Grand Valley, Ontario Church

Our reclaimed wood tables can be custom built in any shape. In this case; the sides were tapered so that those who are seated won’t have to lean in to talk to someone sitting on the same side of the table. See pics below.
