Massive Square Pedestal Table on a Single Hand-Hewn Post in Toronto, Ontario!
On square pedestal tables we will typically miter the corners [unless requested otherwise by customer]. Bread-edge ends alone are great for rectangular tables; providing a nice finish to the long boards. On a sqaure table, however, it makes more sense to 45 the corners for a framed look, as all sides are equal length.
Here’s a great example of one of our square tables. This is the largest we have done to date. At 6′ 10″ x  6′ 10″, we enjoyed the challenge of how to get the top through the front door!  This massive top is on a single, hardwood, heavy duty hand-hewn beam. Combined with proportionately sized feet, it is extremely stable. See pics below of this very unique table!
